New Home Update... 9-25-2011

Just a few pictures from our walk through our house today. We are still on schedule for mid to late November (since there hasn't been any rain). Sheetrock is done, brick is done, stone should be finished tomorrow. Feels more like a home and not a bunch of wood on a big piece of concrete :)

10 Years... and many more to come

On July 14th 2011 Mark and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary...oh how the years have flown by. In the last 10 years, we bought our first house, have had two amazing kiddos, have changed jobs and/or careers and have signed on to build our next house. Mark and I met at Beall's department store in Huntsville, TX. He was an amazing jeans folder :)

With the upcoming costs of moving, we debated whether or not to take a vacation, but since it was our 10 year anniversary... we went anyway. We went to Punta Cana in June and it was amazing. We relaxed and just enjoyed the scenery. We went with our friends Barry & Kelley (whom we like to travel with). Here are a few pictures of our trip... (a few months late :) )

In Punta Cana, you walk up to your plane. It was an amazing experience to just walk out from a grass covered "terminal" and follow the paint on the ground to walk up to your plane. The airport was open-aire and had enormous ceiling fans to keep all of the tourists cool. Strange to walk into connected huts to claim your baggage.

New Things to Come

After searching in Pearland, Friendswood, Sugarland and Missouri City for previously owned homes that would accommodate Jonathan's physical needs, we decided to build. We broke ground in July and anticipate moving in around Thanksgiving. While parting with our first home, we are ready for the new chapter to begin :)

Spice Up Your Life!

Its recital time again....

This year Jenny switched to Jazz instead of the ballet/tap class. She loved it :)

Their routine was to "Spice Up Your Life" by The Spice Girls. This was her 3rd year at Stephanie's School of Dance so she got a trophy. The girls get trophies at 3, 5, 7 & 9 years of dance. She was so excited and kept talking about how special it was to her. It's amazing how much "easier" the whole rehearsal and recital get with each year. The first year (she was 5) was complete chaos...red lipstick not on even close to perfect...but this year, it all went smoothly :)

Tree hugger?

Jenny has become much more adventurous lately. While I was cooking dinner, I let her go and play in the front yard. I looked out the window and she had taken our recycle bin and used it as a step so she could climb the Oak tree in our front yard. What... a tree climber came from me?!

Easter 2011

Happy Easter (...in May). Still catching up on posts...

Going into Easter this year made us a bit uneasy...but all for nothing. Last year, the Sunday after Easter Jonathan had a febrile seizure and the week long hospital stay. NO hospital stays this year! :)

Jenny is in 1st grade, so she gets to go to regular Worship on Easter Sunday rather than with the Pre-k and kindergartners like last year. She got to watch us take the Lord's supper (which sparked a lot of questions).

After church, we did much of the same as far as gatherings go... we hunted eggs at our house before church, then headed to Maw-Maw & Paw-Paw's house for more eggs and finally to Grandpa & Gs house for lunch, egg hunting and a little bit of very cold swimming. The weekend prior to Easter we had a potluck dinner and egg hunt with our neighbors.
