Second Baptist Church's VBS '09 was last week. What an awesome week! 2009 VBS was a continuation of the theme from 2008. The 'super-heroes' (Zip, Zap, Zoink & Captian Zirk)returned this year, but faced new challenges. Last year Zander Von Zoom was determined to steal their fun, but since the bible was the source of their fun and God was there to protect them, he was not successful. This year, a band of space-pirates were out to take the source of their power. Marge, Two-patched Tyler and Tongue-Tied Taylor (the pirates) were not successful because God was the source of their power. So...after an eventful week, all the kiddos came away filled with God's word and learned that they have the Power to...
1. Believe ("Faith is being sure of what we hope for ans what we do not see" Hebrews 11:1)
2. Trust ("For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:1)
3. Choose ("...while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8)
4. Obey ("And this is love; that we walk in obedience to His commands." 2 John 6)
5. Tell ("How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news." Romans 10:15)
Now...if I could only get all those catchy VBS tunes out of my head... :)
