Jenny had her first swim meet this past Saturday. The Pearland Pirates competed against the Friendswood Aquatic Swim Team (at least I think that is what the team's name is). She competed it in two events... 25 yard Freestyle and 25 yard Backstroke. So far, she likes swimming over dance! She isn't intimidated and just does her best. All 5 & 6 year olds are technically competing, but their times do not count in the points and they cannot be disqualified. So, in the end...they all get a ribbon no matter what place they come in.
I volunteered as a timer. It was great to be poolside to cheer Jenny on and give her a high five when she climbed out of the pool. Plus...you get splashed as the kids jump in, which is great when it is 95 degrees! :)
