Great Wolf Lodge

Last week, we took our family vacation to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, TX. For those of you that haven't heard of Great Wolf, it is an indoor/outdoor waterpark resort. The majority of the waterslides are inside, along with the lazy river and infant/toddler area. There are also two slides outside and a pool with various things that spray and obstacle courses. There is a scavenger hunt called MagiQuest that gives you hints to find things throughout the resort and use your "magic wand" to record each thing as you go. We didn't do MagiQuest this year because Jenny seemed a little young...but maybe next year.

We took our trip with our travel buddies the Cooney's who also have a 6 year old daughter. Jonathan sat this trip out and stayed with Mark's parents so we could have some "Jenny time."

Tips for Great Wolf....

1. 1.you can bring your own food (to your room). There is a dorm-sized fridge that will hold milk, water, lunchmeat, etc.
2. There are lots of restaurants nearby...so you DON'T have to eat at the resort. (nearby...Chick-fil-a, Fuddruckers, Steak-n-Shake...and others)
3. The 'tornado' slide is in the dark...and has a drop
4. Its comical to watch the lifeguards around the lazy river...their 'paths' are methodical and a few resembled a dance (if you've been there, you'll understand....left/right, figure 8 around the beaver statues)
5. Check for Promo-codes. the buy 2 nights get one free promo is not the best deal...makes you use the higher rates.
6. Bathrooms at the back of the waterpark are less crowded...and cleaner....we are all about clean bathrooms :)
7. OK....that's all I have at 10:30 at night :)
