Ya-mon!

After 3 years of no major vacation, Mark and I took a trip to Jamaica with our travel buddies the Cooney's. We had been to Mexico several times, but decided to try out something a little different. We stayed at Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay. Everything in Jamaica is very laid back...Ya mon! We are convinced that the phrase "ya-mon" is WAY overused and is just for the tourists. The food was delicious...so much so that we both put on a few extra pounds...which is easy to do when you have an omelet every morning at breakfast, and three course meals at both lunch and dinner.

All in all it was a really relaxing vacation. Coming home to your own bed is always a good feeling...but then settling back in to having cereal for breakfast, cooking dinner and making your own bed isn't as exciting :)

Love those sunsets!

At night, these frogs would come out. The chirp more so than croak, took us forever to find out what was making that sound...it was really loud.

On the 2nd to last night, we tried out the Mexican food restaurant. While there, Barry challenged the manager to eat scotch bonnet peppers....not a good idea. This is a plate of the various peppers that they brought out.

(Note...milk after lots of food, a few margaritas and a scotch bonnet pepper is not the best decision)

Last evening before dinner

Entertainment on our last evening there was a steel drum band. It was amazing how they could play and dance around...all while the AC was not working. They played some Black Eyed Peas and a Michael Jackson medley among several other songs.

And...for some humor...here is a clip of me on the zip line that we took. I didn't know that it was going straight down until I got right up to it. Mark was so kind enough to record it. Gotta love him :)
