First 2009 Zoo Trip

On May 1 (yes...I am way behind on my posts), we made our first trip to the zoo this year. Jenny, Jonathan and I went with my friend Jana (also Jonathan's AVT / Deaf-ed teacher ...sorry Jana, I can't remember your exact title) and her 3 kiddos (Maggie, Chap & Whit). It was a fairly pleasant day...not too many mosquitoes and didn't get too hot.

The kids were excited to see the Elephants getting their morning baths, especially when one just started pooping in the middle of the bath. Jenny was concerned that the soap might hurt their eyes. The zookeeper put her mind at ease and let her know that it didn't bother the elephants.
