Birthday wishes from a 4 (almost 5) year old

Monday was my 32nd birthday. When you get older birthdays aren't as exciting as they used to be. This one was pretty special to me though... not because of the year (clearly 32 isn't one of those milestone celebrating birthdays), but because of the thought that Mark and Jenny put into it.

Mark took Jenny to Firehouse Pottery to make me a birthday present. He told her that she could pick out whatever she wanted. He showed her plates, coffee cups, tiles and picture frames, but she was insistent upon making a piggy bank. He asked..."Are you sure that is what you want to make?" She responded, "You said I could pick whatever I wanted to pick." So, a piggy bank it is. The girl at the store asked her what colors she wanted. She made some suggestions like... putting mud on its feet or giving it polka dots. She said, "no, just pink." In the end, they added a "B" and some eyeballs.

In the week leading up to my actual birthday, Jenny kept asking me if I wanted any hints. I of course told no, that I wanted it to be a surprise. She did give me one hint... It starts with a "p" and that she also had one. I figured that I was getting a princess...what else would a 5 year old have that starts with a 'P', that or maybe some pants. In any case, this piggy bank beat both a pair of pants and a princess. :)

Mark surprised me too. He made an appointment for me to get an 1 1/2 hour massage at Massage Heights. He came home from work early so that I could make a 4:30 appointment. Then when I got home, he had grilled steaks.

All in all, I pretty special birthday :)
